Pros

I got a lap top sleeve once.

Cons

1) Managers in Dublin are ridiculously under trained for the roles they have been given. The lack of empathy is astonishing. Clear favouritism from the outset, if you don’t fit into their mould just forget about it. They need a serious amount of re-training and should be made complete courses on how to speak to and about people. 2) Micromanaging is rampant. Not even in a slightly helpful way, in a completely degrading way. 3) Time is listed at 8:30-5:30 for Dublin. Forget about that right away. Be prepared to be chained to your desk until we’ll past this time. If you miss an email from a client after 5:30 you are automatically behind on your project as GLGs competitors are cheaper for the same service. 4) Actual mental breakdowns. If this is something you enjoy then GLG is the company for you. I needed actual therapy during and after working here. GLG do provide access to counselling which is a plus seeing as they caused so much trauma. The best thing about this was explaining to the counsellor about how work made me feel and they genuinely told me to leave. 5) Forget about transferable skills after GLG. There are none. 6) You are just a number to higher management sitting in their ivory tower. There is a clear downturn in every market. Realise this. Please please heed all warnings about this company, they will tear you down. The team leaders need to be retrained. Dublin is a disaster. Work anywhere else. Please.

Pros

the pay is decent enough you work on interesting projects that you will later hear about in the news

Cons

if you have previously worked anywhere else, don't bother trying to bring any new ideas or advice. your colleagues will be fresh out of college, and your boss will be your age or younger. The average tenure of a new hire is roughly 1.5-2 years. don't expect to make a career out of this the hours are long, as you are expected to respond to clients until 9pm and on the weekends. they will tell you work hours end at 5:30pm, but you are reprimanded for leaving "on-time". there is no traditional lunch break. if you or your team are busy, you don't get to leave.
