Pros

GLG helps college graduates and other young professionals develop a wide array of business skills and take on responsibility at a fast but stable pace. GLG also affords professionals the opportunity to learn in-depth aspects of various industries, legal and compliance regulations, and business models via its training and development contents.

Cons

There aren't many downsides. The biggest downside is that the experience can vary quite a bit between teams. Most teams are great, but there are differences in terms of what is taught, how quickly/slowly one can advance, etc.

Pros

This firm has one of the best cultures as a professional service company. Management cares about professional development of individuals and is firm believer that people are the most distinct competitive advantage we have. Senior managers also seem to be the most down-to-earth group I have met compared to other companies. There is a reason GLG stands out on its own in its peer group. There are many who may have mismatched expectation of working at GLG, but in reality, this is a great place to learn and absorb as much as you can, especially from the access to key play-makers in industries, and bring the unique knowledge with you to wherever you go in your career.

Cons

GLG has put a lot of resources into building new businesses at a pace that could make it difficult to keep up with everything that is going on. You need to have the right connections within the company to get things done at times.
