Pros

There are some really nice people who work here, free lunch once a week when in the office, and free coffee bar. Diversity and inclusion team provides a lot of relevant events and webinars.

Cons

Where do I start? Horrible leadership where everyone is micromanaging those below them. GLG takes advantage of employees who have never worked for a different company prior. If you value your time, finances, or health, do not work here... Time: Logging in at 7:30 AM and logging off at 6:30 PM is the norm and you can also expect backlash if you’re not answering emails after hours (I was ridiculed once for not replying to an email at 11 PM CST). Finances: not compensated NEARLY enough to be working as hard as we do and being watched every second of the day by our managers. Especially on client solutions. No overtime pay, pretty much expected to be on your phone/laptop at all times even after hours to provide client service. Health: continuously micromanaged from every angle. Expect to receive messages all day about what you need to do and what you should be doing better. Have also been lied to about total compensation, “unlimited PTO”, and much more. BTW, unlimited PTO is basically “ask off 2+ months in advance” and MAYBE you’ll get it off. If you’re lucky enough to get time off approved, expect to be looked down upon for wanting to take vacation. I once walked into an office hours type meeting with someone from leadership and voiced my opinion on the company’s culture and where I think we should approve. In a very polite manner. I was given the worst look and was told “you knew what you signed up for, this is the nature of the business we are in.” So word to the wise from me: this is your warning. Please, if you value your sanity, do not try and work here. I have so much to list in this cons category but am honestly too mentally exhausted from this job to continue. Just.... don’t.

Pros

There were some really smart people.

Cons

When I was young and full of hope, I was asked to positively review the company. This matters very much to the Chief of Comms. I did. After I was there for a few months I realized why they had to beg for positive reviews, because the place is a toxic pit of despair. Don't work there. You'll regret it. It was, hands down, the worst workplace of my life. You can do better.

Pros

There is free fancy coffee.

Cons

The work is very transactional and will not challenge you on an intellectual level. It's a great opportunity if you have no corporate experience out of school, but if you will feel like you are in a daycare if you have previous experience. There is no freedom to produce meaningful work and the job description does not match the actual tasks. The pay does not align with the hours they expect. My team was expected to be present from 8a-7p every day. There is a lot of dead air where you are just sitting around with nothing to do. The culture can be very catty. Your success is all about how you are perceived and not on actual results. There is constant shuffling in management and management strategy.
