Pros

-Personable, outgoing people culture -Leadership takes time to be involved with junior level positions -They reach you so much about the business unit you are placed in despite your lack of experience in the field before the job. Don’t worry about not having majored in finance for example. A lot of people come from liberal arts backgrounds that don’t seem relevant to the current job purpose -Kind of unlimited PTO: they usually account for employees to take 15-20 days off but it’s super simple to ask for time off -Promotion usually within a year

Cons

-If you’re working in the financial services business unit, you will be working a lot! Be prepared to learn a lot of GLG specific things/ways to do your job. -You may burn out if you don’t communicate to your manager or leadership about your workload.

Pros

Good base salary and benefits, effective senior leadership, commitment to diversity and social impact. There is opportunity to re-skill and change divisions / business units using internal mobility. Great PTO policy.

Cons

Churn and burn roles at lower levels, limited career growth opportunities. Intense competition from other providers plus "always on" expectation for email especially during business hours. Repetitive work, limited skill development in lower level roles.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. As you pointed out, we strongly believe in the importance of social impact and diversity. It’s encouraging to know you feel the same way. Many GLGers find social impact projects among the most rewarding parts of their experience. It’s true, we are in a competitive industry. We don’t see this as a bad thing, however. It drives us to push each other to grow as individuals, teammates, and leaders in a category we created, and to hire the most passionate, talented people we can find. The work is fast-paced, and ultimately not for everybody. In those instances, we offer pathways for employees interested in different opportunities across the organization. We are committed to helping all GLGers find balance in their work and in their lives, including by offering unlimited PTO. With rapid growth comes a need to hire more to support our global teams, and we are projected to do just that. Increasing our headcount will give individual contributors more flexibility and consistency in client facing roles.
