Pros

Good location, you can learn where not to work in the future, decent basic, good commission structure - if you ever manage to get it paid out to you

Cons

As per following reviews, do NOT get sold on the dream. It is not true, it's aggressive unethical and cloak and dagger type of selling of a useless and made up product no one will ever purchase for a second time... I can not imagine who can enjoy this type of job, where you know that you blatantly have to lie every day and trick people into coming to these events. You have to be a very specific type of person to enjoy working here - if this job is for you, you probably won't bother to read these reviews anyways. The people reading this however, my advice is to stay away.

Thank you for your feedback. Location & Commission - We agree the location is great and have put a lot of work into getting the right commission structure for each of our teams so I’m pleased that you recognise those positives. Sales role - I am sorry to hear that your full experience with GDS Group didn’t meet your expectations. The Sales environment is both dynamic and energetic with our sales process relying on several sales techniques. Great prospecting means that we do not only use social media channels and face-to-face but we also use phone based as a means of connecting with our customers on a personal level. We realise that for some individuals that this is not their preferred means of prospecting and therefore these individuals I regret would not be a good fit for our organisation. Customer retention - We believe in an authentic and ongoing relationship with our customers and our retention is extremely good as you’ll see from our customer case studies on both www.gdsgroup.com and our GDS Group youtube site. You - We are keen to learn from previous employment experience and I would urge you to contact us directly to discuss further.

Pros

no wifi. no cutlery. no tea or coffee. broken air con. toilets.

Cons

Its all one big con. There are a few sales people here worth their mustard, they will sell you a dream and what you want to hear, they are good at it so beware. Dishonest, poor ethos which comes straight from the top. Very high staff turnover. Misdirection of new starters. Its a call centre and a data mining company fronted as an events company. You are required to be on the phone all day, gather lots of data by making lots of calls, and hopefully for the company sell nothing. If you do make a sale, expect to be fired before you get the commission. Sales Managers claim peoples deals here on a daily basis that they have sacked in the weeks previous. I would faster recommend chronic food poisoning or a bullet to the head than a job here. You are welcome.

We realise that for some individuals that this is not their preferred means of prospecting and therefore these individuals I regret would not be a good fit for our organisation. The first 6 months is a critical learning period in any role where people either find their feet, or find out it’s not for them. As you pointed out there are many great sales people who work hard, are rewarded well and have been here for many years – some for as long as 20! Amenities – Thanks for feeding back on the amenities we provide. We have a kitchen on each of our 3 floors in our Bristol office and a vending machine on the ground floor for all staff to use for drinks and snacks. The building facilities are shared with several other companies and managed independently. I have flagged up your comments from March with them for investigation. You - We are keen to learn from previous employment experience and I would urge you to contact us directly to discuss further.

Pros

Good time off over Christmas, the pay is fair and the location is pretty good being so close to the station.

Cons

I will never understand the recruitment at this company. I think they hire as many people as possible and push out all that don't fit. I found it a rude and uncomfortable environment. You are taught to talk down to CEOs etc. As soon as you won't do exactly as they say you are on your way out. If you have morals and ethics just don't bother going.
