Pros

The pay - that is literally it

Cons

Everything. Shambles. Managers are all horrific micro managers. I'd rather chew my own foot off, spew it up, then fry it in batter and eat it again then ever consider working here again.

Exciting Environment and Supportive Senior Staff

Pros

I've read a lot of reviews on GDS and I feel compelled to write my own… As a relatively new employee at GDS, I've got to say that it's one of the most welcoming working environments I've entered; there are no cliques, and LOTS of smiling faces throughout the office. People at every point in the company hierarchy (including the Chairman, CEO, and all VPs) have checked in with me to ask about how I’m finding my new role on. Senior members of staff also attend social events, such as drinks on a Friday which means that staff at GDS get to know one another on a personal level. This, in turn, heightens comradery and makes the working environment more enjoyable! I’ve seen some people write about the backwards management or lack of support. I have to say that my experience couldn’t be more different! The HR team have been fantastic, and my manager has been accommodating and helpful – I really can’t complain. My advice to people considering a job at GDS is: BDE and Sales Exec roles are difficult. They require a lot of perseverance and drive. It’s not a regular, low-effort 09:00 – 17:00 and you’ll undoubtedly need to put in a lot of work. (Which is why you see these bad reviews!) That being said, if you’re determined and persistent, you’ll achieve great things at GDS.

Cons

As I touched upon in the 'Pros' section, it's a tough job and you've got to be up for the challenge!

Pros

Absolutely none. Unless you are a masochist. You'll love it.

Cons

The whole place is terrible. I used to go to bed and dream about being employed in a Victorian workhouse. I would wake up feeling refreshed and excited about my day ahead, eating gruel, pushing rocks endlessly up mountains and being flogged by a wretched man wearing a dirty leather apron and a surly grin. Then I realised I had to go into the Bristol office and my day instantly hit the skids. On a serious note, it is a HORRIBLE place to work. The culture is one of backstabbing and grief. The management are stuck in the dark ages. There is no HR, so if you have any issues you have absolutely nowhere to go. Also - check your contract - anywhere that gives you a one week notice period post probation is clearly looking for an easy way to dump employees. And GDS love dumping employees.
