Pros

- Competitive salary - Competitive benefits and perks - Most staff are competent and hard-working - Potential for professional growth

Cons

- Poor fiscal management; wasteful in some areas, and cheap in others - Do not supply employees with proper equipment to accomplish their job - Highly political; professional growth is all about 'who you know' and 'who likes you' - Nepotism; multiple instances of hiring family and friends - Although offer generous pay, demand extraordinary work - Demand salaried employees work 60+ hours per week, work on weekends, holidays - Will demand cancellation of vacations or call while on vacation - Highly unprofessional behavior of senior management (cursing, yelling, tirades, etc) - Promising salary increases to retain employees, then backing out once project accomplished - Constant threats of 'do this or we'll find someone else' - Very high turn-over rate - Do not offer a healthy work-life balance

Pros

There are no pros to working for this company.

Cons

Dreadful pay and does not compete in this sector, other companies pay much much better. No breaks on 12 hour shifts which is totally illegal but management does not care and does not rectify. Wait until a employee is found dead then something might happen. You are given overtime shifts and then these are cut with no notice and often you are not informed. Local managers are thicker than mince, lads who have worked their way up the ladder but received zero training in management. They don't answer phone-calls, don't reply to emails, they lie and lie and lie, and just bury their head in the sand and hope a problem will go away. Their booking system javelin is a complete disaster as more often than not you cannot log onto it. G4S is just one of the worst companies I have every worked for.
