Great firm

Pros

The firm offers excellent benefits for the staff and there are a number of social clubs for employees to join. The onsite doctor, dentist, gym, restaurant mean you never really have to leave the building. The culture is relaxed yet demanding in a sense that the work must be of the highest quality. Learning and development opportunities are readily available with an online portal and library of courses.

Cons

For those in business services there is little room to progress upwards, more so horizontally. The impending moves to Manchester mean there is a gloomy outlook for those in business services and whether they will remain in London. There are also a small hand of self-entitled members of staff.

Pros

Incredibly smart and driven colleagues both in fee-earning and business services; excellent reputation; respectful and inclusive culture; down-to-earth, friendly, genuine people; excellent career opportunities for those willing to work hard, be bold and try something new

Cons

Every organisation should be striving to improve its performance, working environment, engagement and culture and Freshfields is no different. But there is nothing that stands out to me as a "con" of working here. If there was I would have moved on a long time ago.

Junior Associate Lawyer

Pros

The most spectacular pro is the salary, especially for a recent graduated in law/masters. In addition, in my opinion, the kind of client and cases you can work on are top level, comparing to other law firms based in Spain.

Cons

Many working hours. Fierce competition between teammates. Limited access to information when you are working on a case. Little involvement in meetings or discussions with clients. Lack of guidance by senior associates and partners.
