Fred Meyer which is owned by Kroger provides good Pay and benefits along with great training opportunities and advancement opportunities.

Cons

Lack of new positions with in the company in local markets, sometimes there is less then stellar management and management decisions.

Union-based allows fair treatment of employees Work is easy outside cashier-related Decent benefits but you have to be there long-term for them to count Flexible hours if you're working part time

Pros

Company offers good benefits for their employees. Good vision, mission, and values. They do try to keep associates involved and keep a positive working environment.

Cons

Seems like because of cost-cutting, more labor is being passed on to store level workers. Continues to "promote" work-life balance but the past year they kept adding more work with less hours and still expect the same great output. Not sure if it is Kroger that is doing it after acquiring the company years ago.
