Good pay and benefits. Pretty good team, a few slackers should be dealt with. Unfortunately the management is afraid of the union, and will not deal with bad employees.

Cons

Frequent Managment turnover wears on a person. The managers work against each other to try to get ahead.

schedule is very flexible. Easy to view schedule ( that's online). 401k plan. Paid Vacation. Associates are friendly. Nice Customer service. You get 10% off in Fredmeyer or Kroger products & Anything from Nutrition center , 20% on Apparels(clothes), 15% on home,

Cons

Sometimes people tend to be bossy, even though they are not supposed to be. The company managers are hard on you if you make a mistake. You can't take tips, even though customer wants to give you. They are waiting for any chance for you to make mistake. They don't treat associates like customers( when you are on lunch or break ). It's very hard to get promoted.

Pros

As my first experience in the retail industry, Fred Meyer has been one of the best. My coworkers are pretty much all fantastic. It's a union job, which should speak for itself. The PICs are really understanding to your situation. Most of the customers seem friendly.

Cons

Usually, hours aren't regular. I mostly work evenings, but I've also been thrown into morning shifts a few times. Like most retail businesses, there are some nasty customers, but as long as you can just move on from the last customer, you'll be fine.
