Pros

It's been fairly steady employment, with only one layoff in the last five years. Decent work environment for a machine shop.

Cons

Upper management seems stuck in the past, enthusiastically adopting "new" practices that came out twenty years ago. They are unresponsive to the concerns at the lower levels, even when those concerns come from seasoned employees who have been with the company for decades.

Pros

Good benefits and pay. Easy going pace. Friendly work environment

Cons

Company is a bit of a dinosaur. Slow to adapt to changing technologies. Prefers to continue supplying the same products it has for the past century. Very short term finance driven administration. Layoffs when there are a couple of bad quarters, despite the fact that those let go have a huge knowledge base that isn't being passed on to younger hires.

Pros

Decent entry level job/resume builder. Most of the people are nice. There are a lot of old people in management, so it might be a good opportunity for young people to get in on the ground floor. I would only recommend this job to someone who needs to build their resume to find better jobs.

Cons

Hiring practices are blatantly discriminatory. The international sales team manager told the team that he wouldn't consider hiring a woman for an entry level sales position because "women don't typically succeed at this company". Lots of turnover because of poor management. They always want you to stay late, mostly for appearances. Everyone seems to blame each other for problems, feels a bit childish.
