Pros

35 hour weeks, good work-life balance, Smart & stimulating co-workers- none of the obnoxious banker/sales type - much more thoughtful

Cons

Very hierarchical- even with the support staff, so there is a class system. Jr Analysts working surveillance are often thrown in the deep end & Fitch is lucky that their employees are so smart ,conscientious& have such high integrity. Non analytical staff is expected to be in the office even during a weather advisory or will have to use a PTO day. The lower the title, the less the vacation - there is a significant discrepancy. You also do not have the option of working remotely.on most of the perks- Also pay scale is under market, but the trade off is you can leave at 5pm and have dinner with your family

Static job with lots of politics

Pros

Work life balance is relatively good. Normal hours 9-6:30pm. However, if you get targeted, management will overload you with work.

Cons

Politics is strong. I had a feeling the company likes to be "blind". The company's structure and systems are weak and are not designed to provide protection against bullying or targeting. Opportunities to move oversea are limited. Salaries are lower than in other peers despite title and responsibilities. KPI and the yearly performance reviews are a joke. I honestly cannot say anything positive about it. Senior management is sitting on packages, deals and guaranteed bonuses and they will never walk away from it. They will lie to your face. That stops your career. Rotation at junior level is high. There is a reason for it.
