Pros

Reasonable hours, good vacation time, quality research product (albeit with coverage shortcomings)

Cons

Senior leaders do not understand the business and consistently rely on consultants to make up for their glaring shortcomings. Consultants similarly do not understand the business. Failure to develop new products the market desires leaves sales with nothing new to sell. Value and prefer external people over internal. Never promote from within. Employees are therefore very unhappy. Many seeking to leave. Parent company values analysts and believes sales/relationship managers are interchangeable parts. Consistently set unattainable (double digit) growth goals (again, with no new products) that demoralize each team member. Cap earnings: If a sales person has a strong year, FitchSolutions will ramp up goal, take away client responsibilities and cut payouts to assure it does not pay this "offending" successful salesman "too much" again.

Pros

stable company, clock in, clock out, if you have no ambitions, great place to hang your hat

Cons

Terrible work life balance, no working from home allowed. Some days Big Boss just wants you to show your face around the office late to appear like your working hard without need to do real work, just google late in the office & boss will be happy if you do that. Easy to get promoted - the person who puts in the most hours wins no real talent needed or rewarded Fuzzy goals, no organizational chart, no performance review till last year, big boss said performance review is a big waste of time. Last year's attempt failed when big boss doesnt buy it & is being forced. Oppressive one-way do it my way or the highway management style

Pros

Collegial atmosphere that results in respectful engagement even when the analysts have different views

Cons

Fitch used to be a great company that was merit based. Now that it has targets for promotion by gender many men are getting held back
