Pros

I like most of my immediate team, and the pay is competitive. I got good experience learning about the finance industry.

Cons

Company politics suck and take up at least 40-50% of my week, and I don't get to focus on developing and writing code. Instead, I spend my time justifying my projects, giving updates, and justifying my projects again. Recently after spending 4 weeks working on a project that had been approved by the director, it was cancelled with no explanation. I just want to work -- not play politics. Because of the tough atmosphere, it's hard to grow and move up in the organization unless you're a personality type A person who is willing to play management's games. I do not recommend!

Some good but a lot more not as good.

Pros

Some good people that are looking out for clients best interests. Generally work with a high quality product that helps cover up a lot of deficiencies in the delivery.

Cons

A lot more people that aren't interested in helping but stuck with how things have always been done. Management often seems directionless and the amount of paper being pushed around keeps people from doing what they were hired to do. Initiatives get announced and then nothing gets done with them after a few months wasting everyone's time and energy.

Pros

Good pay and provided a flexible work environment. Benefits were OK. Fiserv has successfully made the switch to digital payments while at the same time still offering more traditional processing services for financial institutions.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity to advance. Typical Fortune 500 company in that there is a lot of red tape to go through.
