Pros

No company in the industry trumps Family First Life. I can say this with confidence, because I've seen it all. I worked elsewhere and have improved the quality of life for many individuals, both clients and colleagues by utilizing the tools FFL has equipt me with. FFL has great culture and makes money with their agents, not off their agents. The main thing that strikes me when thinking about Family First Life is how generous the leaders here are. Vice Presidents (Agency Owners) receive monthly bonuses based on the amount of volume their teams produce. With those bonuses, each VP is willing and able to dispurse these bonuses to the agents on their individual teams. What a great thing to be part of!

Cons

This company is on the rise and the owner of the company keeps negotiating with the carriers we work with to make being an agent here even more profitable. No Cons here.

Pros

They work with insurance carriers that pay you high commissions.

Cons

Every single one of the policies you sell will get flipped by an insurance agent who actually knows what they're doing -- and aren't selling just for a commission. Family First Life sells only simplified issue products, even to healthy people who would qualify for "preferred" rates. So you're actually doing most of your clients a disservice by selling them overpriced non-med insurance. Also, they use primarily Americo for most of their products. Why? Americo pays the highest commissions in the insurance industry. But their rates are HORRIBLE. Laughably horrible. Any polished insurance agent scoffs when they run into an Americo policy. It's as easy to flip as a beer can. The amount of chargebacks a typical FFL agent has is staggering. I got inside information that Family First has one of the highest chargeback and cancellation percentages of any IMO in existence today. This came from a very reputable source. I was also told they've been dropped from insurance companies in the past, and other insurance companies don't want to work with them because of their reputation and because of their chargebacks.

The claims in this review are 100% false. As far as FFL's quality of business being "the worst in the industry" isn't even possible as every insurance carrier has quality standards that every IMO has to maintain in order to carry a contract with them. We do sell mostly non-med insurance since that is what our clients are looking for, our clients fill out leads that specifically say "no medical exam". We meet with middle American families that do not want to go through the process of giving blood and urine to apply for a policy that is issues at a higher premium then what they were quoted 90% of the time. The majority of our business is Return of Premium since 80% of people outlive their term policies we ensure that the client receives all of their money back at the end of the term which we believe is how you help families opposed to getting them a better rate on a policy that doesn't have a Return of Premium so all of their money goes to the insurance company. There isn't an insurance company in the world that would share an IMO's quality of business with an agent, the fact that this person claims to have received this info "from a very reputable source" just shows the lack of validity in this review. We do not hide our comp levels or our lead costs, if you've ever listened to one of our training calls or been to a Sales Conference that we host you would know that we are very transparent about the expenses that go along with being a top producer. This person may not know that as they probably did not participate in FFL's free training program in which caused them to be unsuccessful as an agent with us. Yes comp does fluctuate with each carrier but at FFL we do offer the highest possible comp on every product that we sell.

Pros

I've been selling life isurance for a little over 2 years. I was previously with a company that promised me the highest starting comp you could get, so I figured "highest comp" was somehow regulated by the industry in general. Then I heard about Family First Life, who would start me 30 POINTS HIGHER than what I was currently being paid! How could I be already recieving the "highest comp you could get", if Family First could start me higher??? Glad it only took 2 years to start looking elsewhere and not any longer. Do yourself a favor, if you're not working for FFL yet give them a look!

Cons

Same cons as any other commission based sales job, except they pay you more.
