      Pros

      I worked on a unique team bringing a new product to market and operating in a start-up environment. This provided excellent growth opportunities early in my career.

      Cons

      Performance reviews and merit increases were tied to metrics that my job had no impact on, and I felt unfairly impacted by this. Benefits offered are average or below average. Company limits their investment in employee training.

      Low Morale and Pay

      Pros

      Worked at Metavante (Now FIS) for over 3 years. Was promoted from a Engineer to a Project Manager after finishing my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, but was not given a raise (I asked once I was in my new position after 6 months due to more demanding job responsibilities).I received an annual bonus every year even though it was not much ($250-$500) and regularly received recognition rewards. I was allowed to take training courses on an ongoing basis and also recieved tuition reimbursement.

      Cons

      I was eventually let go during an all but common "reduction in workforce" the company goes though every 1-2 years. This company is great for new grads but it seems like once you gain a little experience or ask for a raise because you have more complex and demanding responsibilities you are shoved out the door. My boss was also very clicky - he had his favorites in my PM group, and consequently the people who got let go in my group were not the ones he sat down to lunch with every day.

      Pros

      I get a lot of experience on different technologies. My immediate management is great and very supportive. There seem to opportunities to advance in other areas if you're unhappy in your current position.

      Cons

      Overly burdensome processes which do nothing to streamline work or prevent outages. At times, it feels as if I work for a governmental bureaucracy rather that a private sector corporation.
