Pros

Autonomy, lots of down time, low stress. A lot of times I would only talk to my manager a few times a week. Job was low stress unless there was a production issue - however the software solution I supported was poorly built and maintained so production was constantly blowing up. Folks in India are smart, nice to work with.

Cons

Low pay, upward mobility non-existent, uninspired colleagues. 90% of the people I worked with unfortunately were pretty negative as far as attitude. Lazy & unmotivated colleagues, good if you want a paycheck and don’t care about progressing the company or yourself. Underpaid - asked for raise, was given a fraction of what I requested despite my role being critical and then they were shocked when I told them I was leaving. Tried to move to a few different roles internally, shut down with no real good reason - easier for me to leave. Can’t say I’m optimistic about FIS’s future. There are a few folks I worked with I really think are bright but the overall attitude of colleagues and friends I made there was FIS is going down hill. Wish them the best but this is not an attractive company for the young and motivated

Pros

No pros. After it became FIS from Sungard they are firing people under a program called RIF( Reduction in force) without any reason. No value for people even if they have contributed 10-15 years of service. No onsite opportunity. Even if there are any, you will be given a company credit card so no chance of saving and earning extra.

Cons

No retention policy. I have seen managers giving counter offer that they will give a raise in 3-4 months to people who are leaving. People stay considering they will get what they have promised. But when it comes to full the what they have promised management just delay it month after month. If you can't afford them then don't stop them by giving false promises. I feel like I have shown this company loyalty and have been fooled repeatedly by promises of credit for my work, both in title and money. I am very disheartened.

Pros

Good place to get experience, then get out before it makes you hard (or soft); Lots of opportunities for positive client impact; the employees down in the trenches are good people trying to make a difference

Cons

Penny wise and a pound foolish, the company does most things on the cheap without thought to client or operational impact. As an employee, you are just a number impacting the bottom line.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. Our employees are our strongest asset and we want them to know that their concerns are always heard. That’s why we’ve created initiatives such as our annual People Survey, which will run again in May, to help us address employee concerns and opportunities to make FIS an even better place to work. Comments and results are reviewed thoroughly so our leadership team is aware of improvements needed.
