Pros

Pay is comfortable, although our Union has done very little to fight for any increases that at least parallel the inflation rate. So, essentially we’re losing money moving forward.

Cons

Unfortunately, there’s been a decrease in pride in our profession. From upper management, supervisors, OJT instructors, to new trainees, the bar has been set low. The agency is certifying new trainees whose skill set and passion to do the job right is negligible. It has and will continue to add risk to the National Airspace System if there’s not a swing in the right direction soon.
