Pros

The people tend to be driven with similar personality quirks. Most people mesh very well. The job can be challenging so you don’t get bored, and it can be very fulfilling. The pay and benefits are very good. Good Union with a contract that has really solid protections. Guaranteed limits on how many days in a row you can work, hours worked, etc. Guaranteed representation for workers rights.

Cons

Extremely low staffing across the entirety of ATC. This leads to a higher stress environment and mandatory overtime. Regional management will make decisions with no input from subject matter experts. Managers in the control room are hindered from doing their job due to mandates passed down from upper management. Severe lack of trust between workers and managers.
