Pros

Good pay for a trainee position. Working with competent people.

Cons

Some instructors contradict themselves on a regular basis. This makes the academy even more difficult than it already is.

Pros

Can be lazy, don't need to know your job or how to use any tools as a technician. There is a huge bonus if you are stupid with choice of duty location. The pay is awesome if you have been in the agency more than 20 years. Benefits are even better if you buy into the union brainwashing.

Cons

Just walk in the door to a facality and within 5 minutes you realize that military life in the dessert was better than what you just stepped into. Run away, don't drink the kool-aid, don't breathe the air, just turn around and don't look back. Worst decision I have made, even worse than drinking and driving.
