Pros

Many different projects to work on. Lots of on-the-job training as well as paid training. Smaller teams are given lots of latitude in how to solve problems. Good work/life balance.

Cons

Like a lot of large companies and government agencies, bureaucracy does slow progress sometimes and also can foster a working environment where image and perception can mean more than the actual work being done. It's more important to follow rules and procedures than be creative which is understandable, most of the time, in this type of environment. If you're into that type of thing, then this would be a good fit for you.
