Rules for management and rules for the others.

Pros

Free swimming and pension contribution. Colleagues, but excluding senior management.

Cons

Rigid, by the book management until it doesn't suit them. Understandable health and safety rules, but personnel manager skills stay at the bottom of the deep end. Questionable cleanliness protocols.

Pros

Close-knit relationships with other leisure attendants. Free gym/swim membership.

Cons

No one seemed like they wanted to work there and so there was little motivation and low morale. Rules only applied when the management wanted them to. Smokers received unlimited smoking breaks (sat outside chatting as a group) while non-smokers had to clean whilst they were off poolside.

I spent 7 years with SLM/ Everyone Active and overall I had a great experience with them. They value their staff Good pay within the region I was working in (SE) Good training and education opportunities Was a growing company when I was with them

Cons

Progression was difficult and involved relocation or travelling long distances If you’re face fit, you were more likely to get promoted.
