Pros

Government Holidays and Benefits. The people are great.

Cons

Sink or swim mentality. Upper management has unrealistic expectations. Poor work/life balance. Due to high callouts, managers are expected to pick up the pace with zero help from senior leadership.

Pros

Great hours with benefits. At my location at least.

Cons

Not so good pay, no one to protect employees from toxic coworkers and/or bosses. Never enough supplies and never can get any... for some reason the "budget" is so low. Compass makes so much money, enough money to help replace broken and worn out supplies... takes literal years, most of the time never.

Pros

My kitchen team are the only redeeming piece of this experience. I thoroughly enjoy working with so many different personalities with varying levels of skill and creativity. Weekends and evenings off are a rarity in this industry and are the only other piece that have kept me in this role for this long.

Cons

Where do I begin? It was disturbing to discover that I am the only chef in my district running a clean inventory. The bottom line is all that seems to matter to this company, that being said they don't appear to care how you arrive there. The HR issues that have arisen have been ignored, even after an investigation into upper management at the unit level with a handful of first-hand experiences and testimonies. Hourly employees are discouraged and fearful due to the retaliation occurring. Cooks that have been with the company for upwards of 6 years are losing faith and leaving. It's incredibly sad to witness and even more disturbing to know that I cannot do anything to prevent it.
