No Corporate Culture

Pros

Some employees and middle managers made the workplace friendly. Good benefits. Free meals and some occasional swag. Things seem to work.

Cons

There was essentially no corporate culture or company values to speak of. Nothing to accomplish beyond the daily grind, virtually no opportunity for promotion or growth (despite earning an advanced degree during my employment). Morale is either low or non existent. Never given an indication on health of the company and no substantive contact with executives. Workplace is far more daily-repetitive-task than goal/achievement oriented which makes accolades for hard work and doing a good job hard to come by. Salary was far less than competitive which was the straw for me. Also might be why the place is a revolving door.

Keep Looking

Pros

Free Lunch, since you only get a 30 minute lunch break (if you're lucky).

Cons

There is absolutely no reason to work at this place. Terrible hours, non-competitive pay, disgusting work environments, non-existent work/life separation, these are just the tip of the iceberg. You won't advance here, you won't learn here. You are expendable and will be tossed aside the first moment the company needs a scapegoat. You will work alongside people who are unable to perform the most rudimentary computer tasks and will be constantly expected to pick up after them. Base pay and raises are a joke and based on arbitrary, constantly changing, secret HR guidelines rather than actual merit. If you're trying to break into the industry, keep looking. Nothing you do here will be applicable in any way to your career development because no functional broadcast environment operates like this. If you're looking for "just a job" go to Wal-Mart, McDonald's, almost anywhere else. There was a time when there were good people working there. Most have left, the rest are in the process. Do not work here, you will regret it.

A good starting point

Pros

No dress code, very nice coworkers, great learning experience for more than just broadcasting skills, free lunches for some hourly employees, job offers some variety - from slower paced days to adrenaline-packed situations (when resolved giving you a lot of satisfaction). The management definitely gives employees a second chance when they make a mistake.

Cons

Location and commute (located near spaghetti junction), management sometimes more critical of you than giving you constructive criticism and guidance (sometimes you receive mixed signals from different individuals). Not much room for growth, can make you feel stuck here. The job requires a lot of non-stop attention, so it is not for people easily distracted or not being very engaged in what you are doing (night shift can make it harder).
