Pros
Worked on several teams and always had colleagues who were willing to help either by sharing ideas, working on projects together, or even taking some work when work was unevenly distributed. I appreciated that. Slack made it easy to reach out to colleagues. The company's products are used extensively internally, which made it easier to work on projects together. There are good resources on internal development. Every six months, there seemed to be opportunities to get promoted. People did change jobs across departments often too.
Cons
Besides three holidays, I took 5 days off in my last year there (this year). Last year, I took 10 days off. I always did some work Thanksgiving morning and twice did work on Christmas Eve and Day. If looking to join the company, I would ask for average number of PTO taken by the employees on the team that you are joining. I routinely worked past 5 PM ET often due to the sheer volume of emails I needed to process or meetings ending past 5 PM ET. I also regularly did work prep on Sundays for a few hours. The number of ERG events, participation at those events, and actual impact seemed to have decreased year over year. For someone looking to apply to this company, I would ask the hiring manager if they can describe any ERG events they attended and let that inform your choice.
