Pros

Uniforms were provided by the company. Amazing store visuals, nice clothes. Great lengthy sale. A really strong retail experience. Usually a lengthy job.

Cons

The company practices an extreme amount of favoritism towards employees that speak Spanish. This was very dehumanizing for me because I worked here for a total of 4 years and through me working here I have seen such a huge amount of racism against customers and employees. If the customer was Black and dressed in urban wear the managers would think that they are trying to steal from the store. I was employed at Zara for 4 years and was fired for lateness, and at the time I was living in a shelter with my very sick mother which makes it very difficult to get to work on time. I have never called out of work and when I come to work I always work my absolute best, but they still chose to fire me. There are employees currently still employed there that has an excessive record of calling out and lateness but they all still have their jobs. My HR told me it was because they couldn't make any exceptions, but I just don't understand how a company can hire high school students at the age of 16 years old, even though the age limit is 18 for the company. That sounds like an exception to me. Or how can they give an employee a job after they left the company without any notice? That's sounds like an exception to me. So why couldn't they make an exception for someone who dedicated their life to the company? Because I'm not Spanish or Albanian, or because their employee was going through hardship like no other and they didn't want that image? The company recently gave out bonuses and though I was terminated in February they refuse to give me my bonus check, which is highly unfair because I am a huge contributor to the company's success. This company is very unfair. They schedule you with closing shifts that sometime end at 11pm and expect you to come in the next morning at 6am to work a shipment shift (Very illegal because the handbook states that you are supposed to have 11 hours away from the work place before clocking in for another shift.) Management is not very approachable at all. And often times the employees have a lot they want to say or that they feel isn't right but they just stay quiet because they don't want to get fired. Customer service has taken a huge decrease.

Pros

The coworkers are the best. This is for the North Star location

Cons

Management. There is clearly favoritism. They don't want to help, they will yell at you and ask why aren't you moving fast enough. The GM doesn't do anything. Her only job is to "talk to the higher ups." She will yell at you if you speak Spanish and say English only. If you ever had an interview here some of you were judge by the way you looked. Quote from one of the managers "I didn't like the way they looked." Also, it's a problem when you talk to your coworkers when it slow.
