Pros

Opportunity to work on interesting transactions in emerging markets around the globe. Deep institutional knowledge of macro and micro climate in these markets. You get to travel to interesting countries. Decent pay compared to other DFIs.

Cons

The company is incredibly bureaucratic and intensely political. The consensus culture slows decision-making and accountability to a crawl. There’s a strong resistance to change; “this is how we’ve always done it” is the law of the land.
