Pros

Walmart eCommerce has some smart and very talented individuals. However, the mantra in Bentonville is 'go along to get along" - antithetical to innovation and what tends to attract (and keep) tech talent.

Cons

Walmart doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. On paper, they are doing the right things - buying companies, making partnerships, hiring smart people. However, it all falls down in the execution as the leaders in Bentonville don't REALLY want or accept the new, diverse, disruptive thinking that all brings. Instead, they just want the revenue and the smart people they've hired or acquired to keep their mouths shut and to smile and nod and to be grateful they part of Walmart. This is made very clear when we are told to "behave ourselves" or when the new talent is excluded entirely from business-critical meetings.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. I am in complete agreeance we have a group of very smart and talented individuals. It saddens me to see your feedback. In our ecommerce landscape we are constantly changing, and we do need to adapt and embrace the change. We hold all our leaders to high expectations and encourage innovative thinking and are constantly looking to break the mold, change processes or even create more effective processes and ideas. I know that innovation can help elevate us as a company as we continue to strive for excellence. It is our goal to ensure each associate is and feels heard. We want to hear your feedback and ideas, because without it, we may not be where we are today. We aim to not only build a team of high performing individuals, but also retain that team. Thanks again for your thoughts. If there is more you would like to discuss, or any ideas you have, please feel free to contact me. - Becky S.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
