Pros

Discounts, buy ins, freebies, fast paced and energetic environment, empowering

Cons

Every store is different I can only speak for my own. I was given a promotion and raise, and told it began as holiday did, it never took place and I was receiving associate pay for management work. Upon addressing this my store manager supposedly handled it. I never saw a check and was made to be a problem seeker any time I had asked when I’d receive the money I worked for. Come to find out my managers consistently shaved minutes or hours even seconds off myself and other coworkers time cards to make goals that would allow the management team to bonus. I was not even paid for thanksgiving after sacrificing my entire family holiday for this store due to a mistake in a lunch or break clock in. I had messed up my own clock ins a few times, and went to see the on clock manager about it to have it fixed, they are supposed to have you sign a paper saying they took care of it, often this paper was taken from me right off the printer and never shown or simply never given to me. On multiple occasions I would be denied lunch OR breaks 6+ hours in, and stay to work 14 hour workdays and told I cannot leave. All of my checks were shorted by hundreds, after sacrificing all my holiday to still receive the same (and sometimes LESS) pay when I’m supposed to receive time and a half on top of my raise..? After Christmas I had been working six hours and wanted to take my break, I was told no by the same abusive manager, I let her know that was illegal and I was taking my break. She told me to just take the day off because I could not cooperate, I never went back. Never heard from them except the next day with a phone call threatening a lawsuit regarding my store key which they received the next day.

Pros

Remote, work-life balance, easily post shifts and get vto if you want it

Cons

Hours fluctuate way too much, and repetitive, brainless type of calls. You're walked all over, and have to play stupid with customers because of their "assume good intent" policy, but WOW the amount of people who take advantage of this wild. You will see hundreds of dollars refunded on numerous back-to-back orders of the same person claiming they didn't get their package, or coupons and gift cards, nonstop, with customers always complaining. The complaints from customers still in store on their treatment from store managers and supervisors are shocking, I've had calls hearing those workers yellling at customers. The type of work and level of needing to play stupid is just not for me. I also didnt care for never getting a straight answer from managers, trainers, higher-ups. Everything is always beating around the bush. One time hours were cut back a lot, and they blamed the tariffs that the president imposed, which made no sense. Come to find out from a long-term employee that it was just the usual slow time. It's a weird work environment that you just can't take seriously. If you want remote work, take it for the experience on your resume, but move on.
