Pros
If you can get in, the compensation is fairly competitive. The trick is staying in. The benefits are fairly competitive, too. Employees get discounts on wireless services. Verizon has been less subject to devastation as the economy has come unraveled.
Cons
Brutal head-count cuts have some teams working unrealistic, unsustainable hours. Competition with Indian employees (who are NOT subject to layoffs) is demoralizing and fear inducing. Isolation of some functions combined with turf wars result in expensive, illogical compromises.
