Pros
-gratis -discount -variety of brands -working with customers -most of the staff was really awesome and supportive -meeting and working with vendors from other brands -learning about different products
Cons
-had a DM who has never run an Ulta and was very UNPROFESSIONAL. would talk about other GMs to GMs. Checked FB while on store visits, lied, yelled at people, and forgot things all the time. -promoted AM to GM with no retail experience, glorified task associate. i've never worked for someone so passive aggressive. thinks all of her associates are replaceable and takes credit for everything good and passes off things that go wrong on other people. after she took over, i felt like we were never motivated to make sales goals. -no training for new people, are just thrown onto the register and then scolded or have hours cut when they don't perform -never enough payroll -often just two people working in the entire store -corporate never could send everything, every week to complete tasks, always having to reorder something -the store was ALWAYS out of something and often for weeks at a time with no explanation. -training isn't consist for everyone -wanted staff to be polished in attire but also wanted them to be scrubbing floors all day -no work/life balance--all or nothing
