Pros

When you have a good team and a good management team in your store it's amazing. The gratis is pretty good. Training on new product is great.

Cons

It's about profit and not the people. Now open on Easter and open late on Holidays. They expect there managers to only have off 1 weekend a month. The DMs are by market and every DM does things differently. There is a disconnect with HQ and the retail team. They grade you on customer coments. Only about 10% of customers take a survey. It's not fair to get bonous based on that.

Pros

If you like helping people find skincare and makeup that suits them, it's a nice place to be--plus you get to take home some products for free every once in a while as gratis!

Cons

Your Ulta credit card is in danger of being heavily used--whoops! Also, even if you really know your stuff and are in the middle of speaking with customers, if they need someone at the register, they will replace you on the floor with a Prestige Beauty Advisor, which was always super disappointing. Especially if you've already established rapport with the guest and their cart is getting full. Also, customers have shared feeling racially profiled, being closely followed. Not cool. Something to keep in mind so you don't accidentally do that if you're part of the team.
