Pros

$14.00 per hour. Sounds good but for only 10 - 12 hours a week with union dues are taken out it's not worth it! You end up with about $125 per week. Your pay goes into the gas you spend driving to and from work. So for a back breaking job you end up with about $75 per week. Who can survive off of that.

Cons

They advertised the position M-F 5:30 - 10:30 (eve). On the first day they gave orientation and said we can expect to receive 25+ hours. That was a lie. Since the day me and others started we've only been given 3 hours sometime 2.5 hours a day because there is not enough work. Each week my check has been about $125 when I was expecting $300 based on the hours we all applied for and on top of this little pay of $125 they deduct $25 for union fees. Each week mgmt promised the hours would pick up. I was considered a hard worker so they awarded me with a small gift my second week there. The next week I was told that they were promoting me to supervisor which would give me more hours and more money. Two days later they hired another supervisor with no explanation to me. The next day I called out and when I returned the following day the new supervisor set me up in my station and then the manager said "oh you called out yesterday, well we really dont need you today so you can leave". This is RETALIATION for me calling out one day. UPS I'm disappointed you allow managers to take advantage of those trying to get their feet on the ground and work hard for you. I guess Warehouse employees are meaningfulness. Turnover rate is high because of false advertising of hours. Why stay to risk our lives to COVID for 2 hours a day when we were sold on 25+ per week. BTW - there it's no AC to loaders. You work in a hot truck.

Pros

THE DRIVERS! they were so nice. Not afraid to give advice, I really liked the drivers, the only ones I had contact with. All were good at their job, etc

Cons

Cold. So this may be only part of the country, but omg, I would have to get paid $100 an hour to work basically your whole shift in 30 or below weather. Before calling me wuss, ask if your winter experience is segments of running to warm place to warm place or hrs in the cold.

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
