Pros
1. People I've interacted with day-to-day are very kind and helpful 2. Potential for lots of cross-talk between departments (e.g., product managers and scientists and marketing can be in the same meetings) 3. Often lots of free food and snacks available 4. Still developing R&D operations, so there is the possibility to help shape the culture / procedures employed
Cons
1. Larger organization has poor lines of communication, so different parts of the business are often not aligned 2. Collapsing of positions and responsibilities onto fewer people (i.e., organizational structure is flattening) 3. Depending on the role, development / promotion paths are non-existent 4. Just based on my experience / observation there is lots of micromanaging, perhaps due to communcation issues & constantly shifting priorities 5. Lower pay compared to similar industries in the area
