Pros
Overall working for UNOPS has been excellent. Middle and senior management (in my unit) is very good. Competent, trust worthy people who follow through on their commitments to their team and treat everyone equally. The work is varied and diverse and there is a genuine team spirit where people have a desire to help each other out. The working culture is very international which for me is a plus. From a work perspective I can only recommend.
Cons
All offices have their own management, with varied competency. When working with other offices the level of cooperation and quality of work can vary, from excellent to poor. The majority of people employed with UNOPS are on short term (up to 1 year) contracts which do not offer much in the way of long-term security.
