Everything is really messed up at this firm. You name it and it's problematic. Things are so sloppy and disorganized.
Suggestions, requests, anything that you might try to do to wade through the mess not only fall on deaf ears - they are systematically discounted and the bad practices are reinforced. You will quickly start to suspect the chaos is not a bug - it's a feature; it seems the firms systems keep both the lawyers and clients instable and at the mercy of management. Thier policies and procedures all indicate the last thing they want is for a lawyer to have control or ownership of cases they handle or for clients to form a relationship with an individual lawyer.
The supervising paralegals don't listen to the attorneys except management and direct paralegals to controvert the instructions received from attorneys, which is categorically prohibited.
Ultimately attorneys are placed in positions every day that force them into chaotic and unethical practice of law.
Lastly the management is petty and will not hesitate to degrade and humiliate attorneys. Often they send pet paralegals to do it for them, which is yet another symptom of the endemic slop, chaos, instability, and unethical culture that one has to conclude is intentional. It can't possibly be this bad on accident.
