Pros
My manager and entire maintenance department lead a well-managed team with a readiness to help and advise. Able to work by yourself (most of the time) while out on the road nationwide. Huge opportunities for career growth and moving up the ladder. Their benefits package and per diem definitely made my life easier.
Cons
This position can "eat you alive" if you're not a mechanical-minded person. Will be working on heavy stainless steel machinery by-yourself with customer equipment which isn't always in good-condition. Many customer facilities are over 60 years old, which can sometimes be in poor condition. Have to stay on top of your game with communication, documentation, and time while at customer facilities. Protect yourself with all details and pictures to show proof of work; otherwise some customers will take advantage of you and company.
