A lot of Autonomy, but little opportunities to work on interesting projects and lacks focus - Project Manager Tate & Lyle Employee Review

Pros

Some interesting projects if you know the right people, otherwise can be boring and repetitive . Senior Management are always available to talk with you. At first it seems that there is a lot of opportunities for growth, however you quickly realize that it is very easily to get stagnant without further career opportunities or growth. There are opportunities for international travel and work with some intelligent people. The management do try to give you opportunity to chip in and say your two-penneth.

Cons

Small and short projects mostly. Processes and practices are ill-defined or antiquated. Seems to operate a lot on the Status Quo and not always keen to change. Decisions are slowly made and seldom and it requires a number of repetitive meetings with a wide audience before anything moves. Benefits are limited unless you are in Management which is demotivating especially when other companies in the same role markets provide a better benefit package. All the high-visibility large projects/ programmes seem to go to external candidates/ contractors. Tate & Lyle is constantly getting in Contractors which limits the rewards to those who work for the company, and most contractors are there long-term, 1 year plus which is very demeaning.
