Pros

-There is good Job Security

Cons

1. Very much worst job of a System Engineer because TCS gives clerical work to update data in application and to resolve tickets but doesn't give actual work of a System Engineer. The position System Engineer is only for formality but they give clerical work internally for System Engineer position. 2. Very much undisciplined company because it doesn't value importance of time. Employees and their managers come anytime to office and go early and don't even do 9 hour work satisfactorily. There is no person to ask these guys why they don't follow strict office timings. 3. This company is a scam as it mentions that there is career growth for System Engineer job in job description but reality is there is zero percent career growth for System Engineer job and also there is no salary hike given as per market standard. 4. Worst appraisal cycle. Appraisal is only for formality and TCS doesn't increase salary by 5% even if employee gets A,B,C band. 5. Lot of office politics, TCS doesn't give chance to employees to switch to different project if you gain some experience even if you are skilled in most of the cases. 6. There are lazy managers in TCS who don't even know to speak during meetings. Some managers speak in Hindi during meetings and this is not a formal act in office.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
