One of the best things about Target is that you will always know where you stand with your performance. As a company they focus on a feedback culture and expect you to be able to receive and give performance feedback. They allow you to take the time to develop professionally. They have also made huge progress in making sure the benefits are right for the employees. They offer a wide array of benefits including discounts to other retailers.
Cons
The opportunities for advancement are available, however it is very biased. It is often based on having a cute and bubbly personality and not on experience or capabilities. As with any retailer, the schedule of a 50 hour work week and working holidays does not provide for the best work/life balance.
