Great company with a bright future if it isn't eroded by greed and nepotism. - Store Manager Target Employee Review

Pros

Compensation is always competitive and the benefits are pretty good. Target is an industry leader and invests well in maintaining that position.

Cons

Target is very political. Processes are world class but the effort to assess and assure quality in the field is pencil whipped on tour checklists by District Managers and support staff. The elitist attitudes are tough to stomach at times. Much of this is caused from promoting very young executives assessed with "potential" that rarely includes interpersonal effectiveness. Accountability is highly regarded but narrowly defined as someone who will endure manic-depressive directors and VPs that like to intimidate and protect their positions.

Pros

If you are looking for a job that you’ll be a part of a fun team environment, have the ability to learn all about customer “guest” service, retail operations and sales, as well as merchandising even at entry level great opportunity. for such a large corporation I have been pleasantly surprised by how tight knit teams are. applying was okay, there were multiple steps (videos, assessments) but overall not too bad)., phone call and then video questions before hiring.

Cons

Pay isn’t great, but for the market it’s fair. Moving up involves a much larger increase in responsibilities and workload relative to the pay increase.
