Pros
The people are what keep me here.
Cons
Too many to name, unfortunately. When I joined the organization prior to the renaming of Millennium Pharmaceuticals as Takeda Oncology, the culture was incredible. The company cared about people, valued work life balance, compensation was well above the industry average, etc. In the past few years, the culture has disintegrated. Salaries are now below the industry norm and bonuses (which have always been are large component of the total comp) are now shrinking. New cost savings measures have destroyed morale in the home office. Many people have recently left and many more are actively looking for new positions. Management is so focused on the bottom line that they have forgotten that people's lives and financial well being is at stake. Recognition for work well done has disappeared as the company has taken a more outward view of public and shareholder perspectives than they have of employee quality of work. Buyer beware! The pipeline is weak and hedged on external partnerships rather than new innovation. Clinical trials are drying up as there is no money to fund them.
