Pros
TE has a great world-wide reputation for ethics and the pay can be very good. If you are located in the headquarters, there are many opportunities for moving up; otherwise, don't expect anything. The people are generally great to work with. When laid off, the severance package was very generous and TE does take care of their employees well from that standpoint.
Cons
The company is extremely quick to downsize the nanosecond there is a whiff of lower earnings. There must be tremendous pressure from the top to protect the EPS for shareholders. Almost never a year goes by when there isn't a layoff which creates a huge burden for the employees. No effort is ever made to protect employees through the tough times -- you're on your end. In that sense, TE is what I would call a "ruthless" company. Once you get to middle-management, expect to start sacrificing work-life balance significantly.
