Pros

Fairly Standard Benefits – While not outstanding, the company does offer health insurance and other basic benefits, which can be a plus for employees who are looking for some level of coverage.

Cons

Management is Out of Touch – There is a huge disconnect between management and the employees on the production floor. Leadership rarely communicates with or engages with the staff, creating a sense of separation and alienation. This lack of connection leads to low morale and frustration. Lack of Career Advancement – The company seems more focused on hiring externally at lower wages rather than promoting existing employees who have experience and knowledge of the process. This makes it difficult for staff to grow their careers within the company and leads to dissatisfaction among long-term workers. Favoritism and Office Cliques – Management often displays favoritism, creating a divided work culture. This extends beyond just management to the employee level as well, where certain individuals get away with more than others without facing consequences. This leads to a toxic, high-school-like environment. Inconsistent Workloads – Staffing shortages have been ongoing, which results in fluctuating workloads. Some days you might have nothing to do, and other times you're blamed for issues that are out of your control, such as supply chain delays or vendor problems. Unfair Treatment and Bullying – Employees often experience bullying over trivial matters such as their appearance or personal style, and there’s no clear process for addressing or reporting this behavior. This negatively impacts the work environment and makes employees feel disrespected. Poor Pay for the Area – Starting at $18.50/hour is below the minimum living wage for Buncombe County, which is $24.10. This pay rate doesn’t allow workers to live comfortably in the area, especially given the increasing cost of living. The company should seriously reconsider this if it wants to retain talent. Inadequate Benefits and Insurance – While they offer benefits, the coverage is subpar, and insurance options are costly. For a large company, this is disappointing and feels like the employees are not prioritized.

Pros

Broadly a good company if you’re in a senior decision making role.

Cons

HR policies are words only. Years go by without ability to take any PTO and carry over not allowed. Friday afternoons, all HR US employees stop working with all others working past normal business hours and into the weekend including late Friday asks to complete an action by Monday 8:00 AM that was known earlier in the week but only communicated to the employee after Friday business hours. Every Friday. Onboarding structure / sink or swim approach, no training. No sense of belonging unless you’ve worked here 20 years plus. No growth or development opportunities unless tapped on the shoulder. Many openings are never published, again tapped on the shoulder approach despite offering to volunteer. Dismissive company culture. Every Voice Counts initiative is code for: if you do share your voice, you are on a list to not consider for promotion or any projects that would give you more visibility across the organization to foster one’s growth.
