Pros

-great job for entry-level person coming into retail banking environment -benefits cost is unbelievably low -tellers can become CSR's easily if they do what they are supposed to do

Cons

-its all about who you know especially in the retail banking -the pay is very low for the amount of work you do and the sales incentive is unclear and a joke compared to some competitors -the competence levels in senior management are varied and some of them should definitely not be managing people -politics at senior management level are ridiculous -very poor work/life balance for store employees especially store managers who are tied at the waist to their blackberries who say they receive emails at ungodly times of the night by senior management, ASM's are overlooked and overworked -2012 is a year of micromanagement and it is getting worse -they lie about the opportunities to cross over to corporate once you are in retail you are stuck unless you are one of the lucky few...and I mean few -the direction and goals of the bank are vague and senior mgmt picks and chooses what to inform you on -the amount of email is unmanageable -the computers are very slow and outdated...many programs to open and use takes about 20 min to get up and running -teller role is good but CSR, ASM, and BM roles are not that good...FSR role is new but they are not paid appropriately for the sales they have compared to competitors -some of the worst customers in banking....spoiled from Commerce way and very very rude -most of the store staff is not knowledgable or professional in their demeanor and knowledge this is due to hiring folks with no experience and not training properly

Pros

The management team was supportive, and the branch had a strong team-oriented culture. Because it was a smaller branch, employees had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, collaborate across roles, and learn from one another. Team members regularly shared ideas, provided constructive feedback, and supported each other's professional growth, creating a positive and rewarding work environment.

Cons

The main areas for improvement would be compensation and scheduling flexibility. At the time, I felt the pay was somewhat low relative to my previous leadership experience in retail management. While compensation may be competitive for some entry-level banking roles, I would have appreciated a stronger alignment between pay and prior supervisory experience. Aside from that, my decision to leave was based on pursuing a different career path rather than any issues with the company itself. TD Bank offers a professional work environment, supportive teams, and valuable opportunities for growth and development within the banking industry.
