Pros
Lots of different projects to learn from and projects are often unique. As an EIT I did not find that I was plateauing or getting stuck in a repetitive position. The office atmosphere was fantastic, the vast majority of my coworkers are positive. Hours are flexible (to an extent) depending on position/senority, which is almost a requirement these days.
Cons
I began working at Stantec after graduation and found that the project managers often worry about their budgets more than training new staff - many times I wouldn't be able to work on a project because of budget issues. Workload can be highly variable. Some days are very fast paced, and others very slow. Some tasks (field inspection in particular) are largely trial-by-fire. As with most large companies, upper management is extremely disconnected from the actual work and often impose bizarre and/or unattainable restrictions.
