Pros
- Interesting work - Individuals given a lot of responsibility and can make a big impact - Plenty of opportunity for career advancement - Resume booster - Incredible peers who are always available to help - Technical leadership is great, in the trenches with everyone else - Company is 100% going to succeed at all its goals - Interview process is very fair, gives candidates many chances to succeed
Cons
- Things break constantly, always fighting infrastructure issues, hot fixing things in production - Work life balance is non-existent and long hours (50-55 hours is a light week), very difficult to handle with a family. Company shows no interest in improving this - Salaries are low, benefits are bad for a company of its size (but equity is high if you stick around) - Very few diversity or female employees. Was a boy's club for a long time and WLB borders on discriminatory so no surprise there
