Pros

In addition to working with great people, I have benefited from many of the company provided training opportunities. The additional skills and experience have allowed me to be considered for promotions for positions I wasn't qualified for before. I look forward to growing more with Sodexo.

Cons

Being such a huge company, it's easy to feel like a blip on the radar. You have to make an effort to stay connected with what's happening companywide by reading email updates and using the company intranet.

I do appreciate you taking the time to post a review and am thrilled to hear you've benefited from the training opportunities available. To your point about Sodexo being so big, you are correct that in such a situation, it is really up to the employee to take initiative and get involved, whether through Employee Business Resource Groups, mentor programs and other in order to really experience the full benefit of working for such a large organization and make create connections. Thank you again for your review, your years of service at Sodexo and I hope you'll continue to grow with us.

Pros

My direct coworkers and other onsite employees are amazing and some of the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The day to day responsibilities are enjoyable to work on most days. Company phone provided for work communications during work hours (you don’t have to take them home with you) Free meals on shifts worked (with restrictions) “Set schedule”

Cons

Work life balance is not great. You hire on for one position or schedule and then end up being required to perform job duties that are outside of your description on top of your daily responsibilities. Wages are really low. Unfair distribution of allotted overtime hours. Benefits are not good either. Insurance is really expensive for not great coverage. Maternity leave is only 6 weeks and only 60% of your pay covered by short term disability (that you pay for out of pocket until 2 years of service)
