Pros

Silva is an ambitious housing association and an excellent place for anyone looking to further their career. They offer an extensive learning platform with courses you can take to improve your skills at your leisure. Learning is important at Silva. The people are lovely - everyone is always happy to help and teamwork is highly valued at Silva.

Cons

The implementation of projects could be improved. Still has some way to go with diversity and inclusion, but they are taking great steps to get there and have ambitions of going above and beyond legislation.

Cons

While Silva Homes has many positive aspects, there were some challenges that outweighed the pros. Communication was often poor, leaving us feeling like we were the last to know about important updates. During the merger with Abri, things became increasingly difficult, with a noticeable shift towards micromanagement and a growing sense of toxicity within the workplace. This led to heavier workloads and a decline in overall morale. At times, it felt like there was a 'big boys club' mentality, and I personally experienced a sense of being undervalued. There was also clear favouritism by management, which further contributed to feelings of exclusion and inequality among staff
