Pros
- There are a lot of highly intelligent, motivated and capable people working here - Free pastries on Tuesdays, fruit and coffee always available - Flexible / remote working - CTU are an asset to the company There is a good sense of team spirit and the office is pretty laid back. Some managers are better than others at facilitating training and development opportunities, but personal development is generally encouraged, especially GIAC certification. The office is in a good location and feels fairly modern. They're also really keen on hiring graduates and the starting salaries are good.
Cons
- SecureWorks have laid off a lot of people to appease shareholders - Career progression is minimal - Many internal systems feel like they're held together with rubber bands and sellotape - Too US centric, EMEA needs its own vision for what works over here - No clear strategy from leadership, a lot of doublespeak The recent layoffs have been demoralising and in many cases damaging to departments. At the recent company meeting the layoffs weren't even mentioned, making us feel like management are trying to sweep things under the carpet and carry on as normal. Our core values have changed slightly from being honest and open with integrity to the catch-all "do the right thing" - that could mean anything. No clear indication of the company roadmap or strategy. You sometimes get the feeling that management don't really know what they want and this is bad because the company desperately needs to turn a profit.
